According to the latest information from the National Association of REALTORS®, the Pending Home Sales for October 2009 registered the 9th straight month of month-over-month increase. As shown in the graphic to the left, Pending Home Sales have risen each month since January of this year — the red bar. October’s index of 114.1 is 31.8 percent above October 2008 when it was 86.6. The rise from a year ago is the biggest annual increase ever recorded for the index (a record that was just set in September 2009), which is at the highest level since March 2006 when it was 115.2.
